Dutch golf fans can look forward to the arrival of the 2017 Masters Tournament champion and Europe’s all-time leading Ryder Cup points scorer ever at the oldest sports tournament in the Netherlands.

The 39-year-old is a 15 time European Tour winner and will be hoping to join the illustrious list of past champions which include some of some of golf’s greatest players including the late Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, José María Olazábal, Colin Montgomerie and many others.

"I am really looking forward to playing in Amsterdam and taking part in one of the oldest tournaments in the world. Six of my Spanish compatriots have put their name to this title, and I hope to add mine as well,” said Garcia.

Daan Slooter, Tournament Director of the KLM Open, said: “It is a great honour to welcome Sergio to the Netherlands during this special 100th edition of the KLM Open. Spanish golfers have conquered a special place among Dutch golf enthusiasts with Seve Ballesteros and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño winning their first ever European Tour events in the Netherlands, and José-Maria Olazábal winning the longest play-off in the history of the European Tour in 1989. It is now time for Sergio to write a chapter.”
