Frost bidding for Mauritian hat-trick at MCB Tour Championship

South Africa’s David Frost will go in search of a third Mauritian title as the Staysure Tour returns to the Indian Ocean island for the first leg of the MCB Tour Championship.

Frost won his first Staysure Tour title in 2010 at the Mauritius Commercial Bank Open in a play-off against two-time Senior Major Champion Roger Chapman and secured the 2012 MCB Tour Championship by the margin of one stroke.

Ready to return to Constance Belle Mare Plage next month, Frost will hope to continue his impressive run on the superb Legends Course where he has finished inside the top ten on eight occasions.

Perhaps even more impressively, Frost has been a runner-up three times at Constance Belle Mare Plage and finished third there in 2014.

“I’m really looking forward to the final two weeks of the season, I hope to end 2018 on a high note,” said Frost. “I have had some positive results this year, but you’re always looking to improve.

“The Legends Course at Constance Belle Mare Plage has been kind to me over the years, and I would love to win the MCB Tour Championship for a third time.

“It’s a demanding golf course, but it’s certainly a fair one. You can’t be too aggressive; you have to plan your round and stay patient if things aren’t going your way.

“This event has grown from strength to strength over the past eight years and we can’t thank MCB enough for their continued support of senior golf in this part of the world. To have another week in Seychelles to look forward to after Mauritius is the icing on the cake.”

An eight-time winner since turning 50, in addition to his two European Tour victories, Frost is relishing the opportunity to become the first winner of a professional golf tournament held in Seychelles.
