Dylan Frittelli put himself in pole position for a first European Tour title as he extended his lead to five shots during the final round of the Volvo China Open.
The South African entered the day three shots ahead of Pablo Larrazábal at Topwin Golf and Country Club and while he opened with three pars to stay at 19 under, his playing partner made two bogeys.
Challenge Tour graduate Frittelli was bogey-free in 42 holes and entered this week on the back of a season's best finish of fifth at last week's Shenzhen International.
French duo Mike Lorenzo-Vera and Alexander Levy were at 12 under, a shot clear of countryman Raphaël Jacquelin, home favourite Ashun Wu, England's Chris Wood and 2010 champion YE Yang.
Larrazábal hit a huge drive down the first but, after three-putting twice on Saturday, he did it again and Frittelli's lead was quickly extended to four shots.
The 33 year old then failed to get up and down from a greenside bunker on the par three second and a par-par-par start proved good enough to have Frittelli five ahead.
In 135 events, Lorenzo-Vera's best finish is a tie for second at this tournament in 2008 but he has no missed cuts and two top tens this term, and was on course for another as he surged through the field.
The 32 year old turned in 34 with birdies on the first and eighth and then made four in a row from the tenth to sit at 12 under with one to play.
Levy began his round with four pars.
