Frittelli back in the mix as round two resumes

Dylan Fritelli returned to Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge on Saturday morning to finish off a fine second round and jump into contention at 14 under par.

The South African is tied alongside France's Edouard Dubois, with the pair of them a shot adrift of the leader, Sihwan Kim.

Almost half the field had to come back to PGA France Golf du Vaudreuil to finish off their second round, but Frittelli was the best of those en route to a second round of 66.

He is therefore handily placed and in top form, having picked up a maiden Challenge Tour title last month at the Karnten Golf Open presented by Mazda.

"The game feels good, there was a little bit of a delay overnight which didn't send me through a loop, but probaby did to some. In fact it kind of helped me, as I was struggling until the tenth hole yesterday and then grouped some birdies together before a great eagle at 15 - well half of it was yesterday, half today. So I finished the round off well.

"I just try and relax as much as I can and save energy when there is a delay, whether it is just lying down in the locker room or sitting on a couch and chatting to someone. That is all you have to do, because if you're out there chipping and putting for two hours you are going to waste energy.

"It can go both ways though, it just depends on your mindset, but if you are good with the mental side of things a delay usually focuses you and gets you back into almost a normal state.

"I'm just going to give it everything the next two rounds, you need to make birdies, and you can't go defensive out there to protect a lead. My goal is to get to 20 under as soon as I can, and then from there start jockeying for position."

Duncan Stewart of Scotland also finished well on Saturday morning, signing for a second 66 in a row to finish in a tie for fourth at 12 under par alongside Chan Kim.

After the delay, play in the third round will get under way from both tees no earlier than 2.30pm local time.
