Australia's Marcus Fraser stormed to the top of the fourth round leaderboard at the Sportsbet Australian Masters after playing the first nine holes of his final round in six under par at Huntingdale Golf Club.
Fraser picked up three shots over his opening three holes before adding three more birdies over his last five holes to reach the turn 11 under overall and two shots clear of fellow Australian’s Rod Pampling and Robert Allenby and England’s Steve Webster.
Fraser knocked his approaches into one, two, six and eight inside about five feet.
Joint overnight leader Allenby, a two time Australian Masters champion, dropped one shot over his first six holes to slip back to nine under.
Both Pampling and Webster picked up two birdies through six, while co-overnight leader Michael Sim dropped to eight under after shipping two strokes in five holes.
South Africa’s Tim Clark reeled of six birdies in 13 holes but a bogey dropped the second round leader back to eight under alongside Sim.
Sim twice landed the ball in the gallery en route to a bogey at the par four second before dropping another shot at the next.
Sweden’s Martin Erlandsson and Australia’s Marc Leishman carded final round five under 67s to sit in the clubhouse at six under.
