The Australian secured his third European Tour title with a two-shot victory at Royal Selangor Golf Club last year.

The tournament has since moved to Saujana Golf and Country Club but Fraser is no stranger to the venue, having won the individual title at the Eisenhower Trophy here as an amateur in 2002.

He said: "It's always nice to come back as defending champion, which I've not experienced too much throughout my career but it's nice when it does happen.

"It's quite a familiar golf course for me at Saujana. It's nice, not only to be back in Malaysia, but also at Saujana.

"I'm quite familiar with the golf course, we've played a lot of tournaments here in the past. I always love coming to Malaysia.

"When you like a place it rubs off on the golf course and that was what happened last year when I won here."

When asked if he feels any pressure as the defending champion, Fraser said: "I think so, there’s always a little bit of added pressure.

"It's a different course, a different field this year, so it'll be competitive out there.

"I was fortunate to cross over the line last year and you never know what will happen this year."

Fraser has enjoyed a long break over the Christmas period, with his last event coming in December when he finished in a share of tenth at the UBS Hong Kong Open.

He added: "I had eight weeks at home. It’s been a long time since I’ve done that.

"It was my daughter’s first day at school last week and I skipped the Middle East to make sure I was around for that."
