Francesco Laporta is aiming to create even more special memories in South Africa when he goes in search of a first DP World Tour title at the Nedbank Golf Challenge on Sunday.
The 34-year-old Italian shot a 69 in the third round at Gary Player Country Club to sit in a tie for second with 18 holes remaining, three strokes behind leader Aldrich Potgieter.
Laporta has spent a lot of time in South Africa and hopes to make it the scene of his first title this week.
He said: "It is really special, this place.
"I spent a lot of time here when I was younger with my parents, family, uncles.
"So I have a lot of good memories.
"I am trying to make this place even more memorable tomorrow."
