England's Mark Foster lost his two stroke overnight lead after making an error on the fourth hole of his BMW International Open final round in Munich.
Foster came up short in the water and, as he bogeyed, Scotland's European Tour rookie Scott Jamieson completed a 64 to join him on 14 under par and Spain's Pablo Larrazabal birdied the long sixth to make it a three-way tie.
They were a stroke ahead of South African George Coetzee and Foster's compatriot Lee Slattery, while Sergio Garcia remained two back with four opening pars.
Foster gave himself a nine foot eagle chance on the sixth, but lipped out and had to be content with birdie.
A bad drive down the next, though, led to his second bogey of the day and he suddenly found himself two behind as Larrazabal, who lost the event from two in front with three to play last year, followed a 20 footer on the seventh with his fourth birdie of the round at the long ninth.
Out in 32 he was 16 under, with Foster and Jamieson joined on 14 under when Garcia birdied the sixth and seventh.
The former World Number Two, now ranked only 64th after more than two and a half years without a win, was out in a brilliant 31 - and five under for his last four holes.
Foster birdied the ninth, but was now two back in third.
