Forsbrand and Mouland earn conditional cards

Mark Mouland and Anders Forsbrand earned conditional status for the 2014 season on the US Champions Tour after finishing in the top 12 at the Qualifying School.

The duo, both winners on the European Senior Tour, will gain a limited number of starts on the Champions Tour next season after they finished in a tie for ninth place on 11 under par at TPC Scottsdale, in Arizona.

Forsbrand’s six under par closing round of 65, which featured back-to-back birdies from the 17th hole and was the joint lowest of the day, catapulted the Swede 31 places up the leaderboard and into the all-important top 12.

Mouland’s round of 69 was less spectacular but the Welshman will, like Forsbrand, earn some starts next season. With rain having delayed the start of the final round by three hours, the play-offs to determine the order of the conditional places will be held on Monday morning.

Forsbrand and Mouland will compete against the American duo of Ben Bates and Jeff Coston, who also finished on 11 under par.
