Fleetwood ready for final push in Race to Dubai

Tommy Fleetwood admits his season has exceeded all expectations as he enters the final three Rolex Series events leading the Race to Dubai.

The Englishman tees it up at this week's Turkish Airlines Open leading the Race to Dubai Rankings presented by Rolex after a campaign that has so far seen him peak at all the right moments.

He claimed a win on the Desert Swing at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, finished second at the WGC-Mexico Championship and fourth at the US Open as he announced himself on the international stage.

A Rolex Series win at the HNA Open de France was followed by top tens at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by the Rory Foundation and the Italian Open to hand him a 865,769 euro lead heading into the closing trio of events.

With 22.5million US dollars up for grabs over the last three Rolex Series events starting this week at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort, the job is far from done, but Fleetwood is keen to get over the line as quickly as possible.

It's massive, it's the Race to Dubai, isn't it? It's one of the biggest things you can achieve in your career - Tommy Fleetwood

"I hope it gets to Dubai and it's a boring end," he said.

"It's brilliant, isn't it? New experiences for me, never ever been close. I think there's always goals going on in between. I think I've just got over four million euros now and that's an amazing achievement in itself.

"I think you put it any way you want. Whether it's pressure or not, it's the best kind of pressure you can possibly have, trying to win the Race to Dubai. I'm enjoying it.

"It's a new experience and I've got some of the best players in the world behind me. At the moment, I'm on top.

"I know I've played well and I've obviously improved my game a lot but it's massively built my confidence up, the runs I had in Mexico and the US Open. Those things just do masses for your confidence.

"I've had experiences this year on and off the course that have just done me a world of good, really."

Fleetwood rises to the top in Paris

Masters Tournament champion Sergio Garcia, World Number Six Justin Rose and World Number Five Jon Rahm are Fleetwood's closest challengers coming into this week, with Rose playing two of the final three events as he carries the momentum from his WGC-HSBC Champions win in China.

But despite having so much on the line against illustrious opposition, Fleetwood insists his approach will not change as the goal is still the same - winning.

"All you can do is play your golf and try and improve," he added. "I've said it for a few weeks, as the tournaments start winding down, friends, family, people and players in the players' lounge, they say, 'oh, you know, good luck, you're still ahead or keep it going'.

"So everybody wants to talk about it because it's massive, it's the Race to Dubai, isn't it? It's one of the biggest things you can achieve in your career.

"But all you can do is what you can do that week. The ultimate goal every week is to win and I do want to win another tournament before the year is out.

"There's only three left but I would love to get into contention. It's what you want to be doing. It's how you want to feel and that's why you want to play."
