Following The Senior Open Presented by Rolex, the Staysure Tour heads to London Golf Club for the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship. Here are five key facts before the action tees off in Kent this week.
Champions on show
A star-studded field will take to the International Course at London Golf Club, four days after the final putt was holed on the Old Course at St Andrews.
Senior Major winners Paul Broadhurst, Roger Chapman, Mark James, Mark McNulty and Colin Montgomerie will be aiming to add the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship to their already impressive CVs. Meanwhile, Broadhurst, Stephen Dodd, Clark Dennis, Montgomerie and Jean-François Remésy could claim their second Staysure Tour title of the season with victory at London Golf Club.
Also, part of the eye-catching field are 16 former Ryder Cup players, including three Captains.
Historic Championship
The PGA Seniors Championship, under the new title sponsorship of Staysure, will celebrate its 60thanniversary this year.
The famous trophy was first won by John Burton in 1957 and has since become one of the iconic titles on the over-50s circuit.
Christy O’Connor Snr holds the record with six PGA Seniors Championship titles, while Neil Coles lies second with four triumphs. Australian Peter Fowler is the last winner of the title when he won by three shots at Close House Golf Club in 2015.

London Golf Club boast two quality golf courses – the Jack Nicklaus signature-designed Heritage Course and the International Course, which the players will compete on this week.
The Kent club was the first ever European Tour Destination and is part of European Tour Properties’ global network of world class venues.
Over the years London Golf Club has held several notable European Tour events, including the 2008 and 2009 European Opens and the Volvo World Match Play in 2014.
PGA history makers?
Paul Broadhurst, Roger Chapman and Colin Montgomerie will all aim to become the second player in history to win both PGA titles on the over-50s circuit.
Broadhurst won the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in May, while Chapman claimed his Senior PGA Championship in 2012. Montgomerie triumphed across the Atlantic in 2014 and 2015 to take his Senior PGA Championship crowns.
The late Peter Thomson is the only player to have won both Championships after he claimed the US Senior PGA Championship in 1984 before lifting the PGA Seniors Championship four years later in 1988.
All three players have the chance to join Thomson in the history books should they claim the title at London Golf Club.
Cancer Charity support
Royal Marsden has joined forces with the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship to help raise funds for the world-renowned Hospital’s Cancer Charity.
All parking fees for the tournament will be donated to Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, which raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre.
As well as receiving the funds from the parking – £10 per car – the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity will also have space on site to sell branded merchandise, plus a Charity Hole in Wednesday’s Pro-Am.
