Matthew Fitzpatrick will be hoping to build on his strong form at the Omega European Masters when the young English star returns to Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club for the famous event in the Swiss Alps, from September 7-10.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a superb conclusion to the 2016 European Tour campaign, winning the season-ending DP World Championship, Dubai to finish sixth in the Race to Dubai.
That was his second victory of the season having won the Nordea Masters earlier in the year before making his Ryder Cup debut at Hazeltine.
The 2013 US Amateur Champion has a strong record in Crans-Montana, one of the most spectacular venues in golf, having finished in a share of seventh last year as Swede Alex Noren claimed a play-off triumph over Scott Hend for his third of four titles in an incredible 2016 season.
Fitzpatrick had come agonisingly close to a maiden professional title at the Omega European Masters in 2015, his maiden campaign on the European Tour, when he finished runner-up to countryman Danny Willett, who would go on to win the Masters Tournament a year later.
His best finish of the 2017 European Tour season so far came at the other Omega title-sponsored event, the Omega Dubai Desert Classic – where he finished in the top five.
