Fisher looking to net back-to-back titles

Ross Fisher hopes to continue his winning form when he makes his debut in the Trophee Hassan II this week.

The Englishman ended a four-year hiatus from the winner’s circle with victory at the Tshwane Open a fortnight ago.

And now the 2010 Ryder Cup player is eager to register another impressive disply on his first visit to Golf du Palais Royal in Agadir.

“I’ve never been here before but I’d heard very good things about the tournament, so I thought I’d come out and see what all the fuss is about,” said Fisher.

“So far it’s lived up to expectations – the course is in pristine condition. I come here on the back of a week off last week and a win two weeks ago, so it’s been the ideal preparation.

“I added the tournament to my schedule at the start of the season, and after my win I saw no reason to change it.

“My confidence is obviously high after the win, especially given how well I played all week. It was also important to get a nice rest at home with the family to recharge the batteries, because winning does take it out of you. I now feel fresh and ready to go again.

“I finished last year very strongly so I didn’t really want the season to end, but fortunately I managed to carry my form into this year. So the win has definitely been coming for a while now, and it was a relief to finally get it done.

“It’s very impressive. I’ve only been to Morocco once before, on the Challenge Tour in 2005. So I’d only seen this place on the TV, and it definitely lives up to the hype.”
