Fichardt takes control in St Omer

Darren Fichardt made light work of strong winds to take the lead in the third round of the Saint-Omer Open presented by Neuflize OBC.

The South African was three under par through seven holes, moving to eight under with birdies at the fifth, sixth and seventh, while overnight leader Sihwan Kim of Korea endured a nightmare start with three bogeys and a triple bogey from his first seven holes to slip back to level par.

Englishman Simon Wakefield was in second place at four under par thanks to a solitary birdie at the third, while Dutchman Wil Besseling and England’s Adam Gee were at three under.

Chilean Mark Tullo moved into the top ten with a superb four under par 67, and Englishman Gary Lockerbie was also on the move, playing 14 holes in three under to go to one under par overall.
