Fantasy Three to watch in Qatar

The European Tour heads to the marvellous Doha Golf Club for this week's Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, with a strong field ready to do battle.

We have picked three players you might want to consider for inclusion in your fantasy teams this week.

Favourite - Kurt Kitayama

Thomas Pieters
Kurt Kitayama

American Kitayama has enjoyed a stellar start to life on the European Tour since coming through all three stages of the Qualifying School to earn his card late last year. The 26-year-old produced a stunning comeback to win last week's Oman Open, adding a second title to his collection following his victory at the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open at Anahita in December. Kitayama may have only played 11 European Tour events, but he has already shown he has what it takes to get over the finishing line so do not be surprised if Kitayama walks away from Doha Golf Club with another title.

Form Horse – Thomas Pieters

Thomas Pieters

Another player arriving in Qatar in fine form is big-hitting Belgian Thomas Pieters. Out of those who have played 10 or more rounds, Pieters has been the second best player in the field on Tour so far this year, beating the field by 1.85 strokes per round in his 19 rounds. After impressing during the 54-hole stroke play section of the ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth, Pieters finished in a tie for 11th at Lake Karrinyup Country Club following his narrow defeat to Min Woo Lee in a close second-round match play contest. The 2016 Ryder Cup player starred again in Oman last week, posting rounds of 68, 75, 69 and 71 to finish in a share of sixth place, just two strokes behind champion Kitayama.

Wildcard - Fabrizio Zanotti

Fabrizio Zanotti

If Paraguayan Zanotti can maintain his recent upward curve, he is definitely worth including in your team this week. The 35-year-old finished in ties for 32nd, 29th and 24th in his first three events of the year before coming joint-second in Oman last week. He was under par in each of his first three rounds at Al Mouj Golf but struggled on Sunday, signing for a 74 that saw him finish one shot off the lead. He will be hoping to bounce back with a strong performance in Qatar.

Those are our picks. Now it is up to you to decide who you go for. Make sure you pick your fantasy team before play gets under way on Thursday morning.
