Fantasy Race spot prize up for grabs at Cadillac

After a thrilling start to the season, and some welcome time off to assess your teams,

Here are three players we think could help you win our spot prize this week

The European Tour Fantasy Race

returns with a vengeance this week as the World’s best tee it up in the second World Golf Championships event of 2012.

The

WGC-Cadillac Championship

has been played at Doral for the past five years, with those qualifying for the event each year having to get to grips with, and tame, the famous TPC Blue Monster layout with its incredibly testing final hole.

Nick Watney triumphed in 2011

, holding off his big hitting compatriot Dustin Johnson in the process, to take his maiden WGC title. However, he is not eligible for the fantasy game, and when it comes to recommendations your first port of call should no doubt fall to the usual suspects – messrs Westwood, Kaymer, Donald – and of course new World Number One Rory McIIroy.

However, we love thinking outside the box, and first up on our list is 2011 third placed man

Anders Hansen

who often finds himself near the top of the board come Sunday afternoon at some of the game’s biggest events. Proof of this has come with his two BMW PGA Championship victories in 2002 and 2007, and the fact that he finished third in last year’s US PGA Championship, having looked favourite to win at one point coming down the stretch.

Also a little off the radar, but coming into the event with some form this week, is England’s

Justin Rose

. He can blow a little hot and cold, and his play is quite dependent on his flat stick form, but having finished in a tie for fifth at The Honda Classic last week he heads to Miami with confidence. His wins do tend to come at the game’s tougher tournaments and venues so watch out for him this week.

One player heading into this week with more confidence than most will be Scotland’s

Paul Lawrie

, who, having ended a run of four top tens in a row with victory at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters in February, will head to Doral looking for a strong display. He doesn’t have the best record in this event, having only played twice (1999 and 2002), but having fared well at the recent WGC-Accenture Match Play will have given him a further boost, and if he were to get it going this week he could be dangerous.

Aside from a little help with your picks, we also have a great spot prize for the team that scores the most points this week – namely a goodie bag of Race to Dubai clothing and merchandise – which makes it even more imperative everyone get their changes in before the deadline.

Darren Gallagher’s ‘Dazza boys’ still lead the way in thestandingswith 3,839,072 Euros, and with a VIP trip to the 2013 DP World Tour Championship the prize for winning this season’s game, it really will pay to get your team performing immediately.
