Ahead of the Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity, europeantour.com stats man Steve Doughty picks out his five to watch at Diamond Country Club...

Diamond Country Club

Anders Hansen

  • Making up for lost time this season, after sustaining an injury, and as such has only played six events.
    - In three of his last four starts he has finished: tied fifth in the Volvo China Open, tied second in the Championship at Laguna National and tied 30th in the BMW PGA Championship.
    - Missed the cut at the Nordea Masters, but has been in fine form and would be expected to challenge.

Miguel Angel Jiménez

  • Recently moved to Vienna, so will be keen to put on a good show for his new Austrian wife.
    - Is the highest ranked player in the field in both the World Ranking (27th) and The Race to Dubai (7th).
    - Posted three top four finishes this season, including two wins.
    - Never finished worse than 19th in three starts at Diamond County Club.

Joost Luiten

  • The defending champion and looking to become the first player to win this event back-to-back.
    - Will be looking to gain some further confidence in the run up to the US Open Championship next week.
    - Has a great record over the Diamond Course, and is 38 under par for his 12 rounds
    - Finished tied 17th in 2009, third in 2011 and first 12 months ago.

Gary Stal

  • Impressed on his last European Tour appearance at the BMW PGA Championship, tying for 38th.
    - From his 12 events so far this season he has made nine cuts.
    - Has a best finish of tied 12th in the NH Collection Open.
    - Won his first professional title at the Kärnten Golf Open presented by Mazda in 2012.

Bernd Wiesberger

  • The home favourite, especially as Diamond Country Club tends to favour longer hitters.
    - Won this event in 2012 and finished tied 14th in his title defence in 2013.
    - Was also fifth in 2011, and his last 12 rounds at this course have all been par or better.
