Spectators at the M2M Russian Open had the chance to work on their swing thanks to the practice nets and free lessons on offer at Tseleevo Golf and Polo Club.

Set up by Provision Events on behalf of The European Tour, The Ryder Cup European Development Trust, the R&A, the PGAs of Europe and the Russian Golf Association, the facility allowed people of all ages and ability levels to hit a few balls while they were not watching the professional action on the course.

Local PGA professionals were on hand to offer advice, instruction and video analysis, with the aim of promoting the game and encouraging more people to take up the sport.

The M2M Russian Open is a platform for developing golf in an emerging market, and is the perfect opportunity to introduce local children in particular to a sport they can play their whole life.

Malcolm Lacey, PGA Professional and Event Manager, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to come and try golf while they are at Tseleevo. Whether it’s the first time they have picked up a golf club or they are a good amateur looking for a few tips from the pros, there is something for everyone.

“Golf is growing in Russia and we hope the experience people have here will encourage them to pursue this brilliant sport.”
