INTERESTING FACTS

Gerry Norquist, winner in 1999 and Yeh Wei-Tze, winner a year later, both achieved their debut victories on The European Tour in this event, both playing only their second European Tour event. Vijay Singh's 2001 victory was his tenth on the European Tour International Schedule and his 11th followed a week later when the Fijian beat Warren Bennett in the Caltex Singapore Masters. Of Vijay's 30 professional titles six have come in Asia, including the Malaysian Open in 1992.
