European Tour Weekly 628

This week European Tour Weekly travels to Ohio for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.  Firestone Country Club in Akron hosts for the 11th year running, and last year Tiger Woods became the first player on either the PGA Tour or the European Tour to card seven wins on the same course when he triumphed in a duel with Padraig Harrington.  ETW will be on the range with a full preview from the third World Golf Championship event of the season.

As well as Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup team members and the world’s top fifty players, the event includes winners from the previous 12 months, and a first win in 12 years for Sweden’s Michael Jonzon at the Castello Masters Costa Azahar qualified him for a tee spot in Ohio.  ETW talks to the 37 year who was struggling to keep his card until his win in Spain.

Our review this week comes from the Southwest of Ireland for the 3 Irish Open, which returned to Killarney Golf and Fishing Club for the first time in 18 years.  ETW will bring you the best of action from County Kerry.

ETW also has a special report on a charity day held at Killarney for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, the chosen charity for this year’s 3 Irish Open, involving the leading Irish players including Padraig Harrington and Rory McIlroy.

In County Kerry we also caught up with ETW’s One to Watch for 2010, Wale’s Rhys Davies who is enjoying a very successful rookie season.  ETW joined Rhys on location shooting a commercial.

Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
