European Tour Weekly 627

This week European Tour Weekly travels to the Southwest of Ireland for the 3 Irish Open. The tournament returns to Killarney Golf and Fishing Club for the first time in 18 years with a world class field assembling in County Kerry, including Padraig Harrington, Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell.  ETW will be on the range for a full preview on the eve of the event.

Last year at County Louth Shane Lowry became only the third amateur to win a European Tour event when he thrilled the Irish crowds with a home victory after a sudden death playoff with Robert Rock.   ETW caught up with the Irishman playing in a special event at Lough Erne ahead of his defence.

Our review this week comes from Stockholm, and we will bring you the best of the action from the 20th Nordea Scandinavian Masters at the new venue of Bro Hof Slott Golf Club.

Last week Louis Oosthuizen teed up in his first event since claiming the Claret Jug at St Andrews.  ETW followed the new Open Champion in Sweden and spoke to the sports psychologist Karl Morris who helped Louis to his first major victory.

Whilst in Sweden ETW also met the latest Swedish winner on tour, Fredrik Andersson Hed.  Fredrik broke through for his maiden victory at the BMW Italian Open in May at his 245th attempt and after 14 trips to Qualifying School.

Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
