The European Tour has withdrawn Sweden’s Niklas Lemke from the 2021 Austrian Golf Open after he tested positive for Covid-19.
Lemke was required to take an onsite PCR test following his opening round at Diamond Country Club, after being identified as a close contact of compatriot Joel Sjöholm. Sjöholm had withdrawn from the tournament on Wednesday due to injury and subsequently tested positive on Thursday for his exit PCR test.
Both players will enter a period of isolation in accordance with Austrian Public Health guidelines, and will be supported by the Federal Ministry of Social Affair, Health, Care and Consumer Protection and the European Tour throughout that period.
