European Tour and Titleist extend long-standing partnership

The European Tour has extended its long-standing partnership with Titleist, the number one ball in golf, as an Official Partner until 2018.

Titleist Brand Director Matthew Johnson (L) and George O'Grady, Chief Executive of The European Tour

The relationship has gone from strength to strength since it began more than 25 years ago, with both parties benefiting from Titleist’s standing as the golf ball of choice for the overwhelming majority of players at every European Tour event, and number one golf ball of choice across all levels of the game.

Titleist will be providing range balls throughout The European Tour International Schedule, allowing players to warm up and practise with the number one ball in golf. More players and winners choose a Titleist golf ball than any other brand. In 2013 20,995 players across worldwide professional tours put their trust in a Titleist golf ball, compared to 3,071 for the nearest competitor. This included Henrik Stenson, who used the Pro V1x ball for his victory in the 2013 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, which earned him The Race to Dubai crown. Stenson’s win was the 2,013th success for the Pro V1 franchise.

Matthew Johnson, Titleist Brand Director, said: “We have always had a fantastic working relationship with The European Tour, and we are proud of the ties that we have built up over the years. As a brand, we pride ourselves on our work with the best golfers in the world, who have validated Titleist golf balls for more than 75 years.  Our partnership with The European Tour  helps us to connect with our target audience of serious golfers and reinforce our position as the most trusted golf ball at every level of competitive golf.

“We look forward to developing the relationship further over the next four years and hope to bring even more value to the association for both parties.”

George O’Grady, Chief Executive of The European Tour, said: “Titleist is one of the strongest brands in golf and we are delighted to extend the partnership until 2018.

“Our relationship with Titleist has grown enormously during the many years we have worked together, and we are excited about building on this further over the next four years.”
