Organisers of the EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM today announced an innovative new club sponsorship programme designed to raise awareness of the EurAsia Cup amongst active golfers in the region and to invigorate the regular monthly medal competitions that take place at golf clubs around the country.
The EurAsia Cup is supporting the February monthly club medal competition at approximately 30 of the leading golf clubs in Malaysia with a focus on the Klang Valley area. Selected clubs in Singapore have also been invited to participate in the programme.
The EurAsia Cup Club Medal programme will reward participating golfers with a free EurAsia Cup cap and the winners of each club’s monthly medal competition will receive free tickets to the inaugural EurAsia Cup tournament at Glenmarie Golf and Country Club from March 27-29 as well as additional tournament merchandise.
Charlie Tingey, Senior Director of EurAsia Golf Ltd, said: “We wanted to develop a club-wide initiative that would reward regular golfers, encourage them to join us at the EurAsia Cup, and generate a bit of buzz within the golfing community. The EurAsia Cup Club medal programme adds value to the regular club medals and does so in a way that will be appreciated by golfers.”
Tingey added: “As well as the high-quality golfing cap that every participant will receive, everyone who takes part will be able to buy tickets at a special rate. We’re aiming to reach over 30,000 active golfers with this scheme and we want as many of them as possible to come to Glenmarie for the tournament itself.”
