Entertainment abounds at The Renaissance Club

This year’s Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open is shaping up to be an exciting experience for spectators of all ages, as the Rolex Series event, taking place at The Renaissance Club on July 10-14, promises to be a world class event both inside and outside of the ropes.

Stunning views await at The Renaissance Club

Some of the world’s best golfers have already set their sights on Scotland, the Home of Golf, where they will undoubtedly provide unrivalled entertainment, but fans of all ages can also enjoy a host of experiences in the Championship Village and beyond.

Fans can watch the battle for the coveted silver quaich trophy play out on the exciting, short par three 15thhole, which will be transformed into a viewing arena. The 15thHole Experience featuring the Tennent’s Bar will include grandstand seats, standing platforms, the Skean Dhu hospitality suite and a big screen, all surrounding the green.

The stunning surroundings of The Renaissance Club and Scotland’s Golf Coast can be savoured from the Edinburgh Gin Experience, which overlooks the par three third and fifth holes, with outstanding views of the Firth of Forth.

For those who want to explore the village, there is live music and a host of fun activities. Golfers can try their hand at the Callaway Golf Challenge, the Scotland Home of Golf Putting Challenge, Scotland’s Golf Coast Interactive Zone and the 20 metre charity mega putt challenge, and for a change of sport the curling tent boasts three synthetic curling lanes.

A fun-packed day can be had by even the youngest of fans, with a kid’s zone featuring face painting, a playbus, trampolines and an inflatable assault course.

If all of that sounds too energetic, fans can relax on the Best Seats in Golf - the many giant deckchairs scattered around the venue - while watching the day’s events unfold on course or on the big screens.

When refuelling is in order, food options will be supplied by Scottish company StrEAT Events, with a great selection of street food for all tastes, all provided by Scottish vendors.

Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open Championship Director Rory Colville said: “The Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open is renowned for attracting some of the biggest stars in golf and providing world-class entertainment on course for the tens of thousands of fans who join us.

“The event has grown every year to become an exciting option for spectators of all ages, whether they are dedicated golf fans, general sport lovers, or families seeking a fun day out.

“With a host of entertainment for fans of all ages, and fantastic Scottish food and drink options across the site, we look forward to welcoming fans from Scotland and beyond for a week of great entertainment.”

The Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open will once again be followed by the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open, which will be played over the same course, from August 8-11, 2019.
