Emirates has been the Official Airline of the US$8 million tournament since 2010 and 2014 marked its commencement as an Official Partner of The European Tour and The Race to Dubai where it supports 18 other global European Tour events including the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, the BMW PGA Championship and the Alstom Open de France.

“The DP World Tour Championship is a world class sporting and social event and the final tournament of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai.  Emirates is proud to be committed to this sport which is hugely popular with many of our passengers,” said Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline.

“We also sponsor other tournaments - including  the Boeing Classic, the Emirates Australian Open, the Australian PGA Championship, the Thai Open and the Indonesia PGA Championship - but it makes perfect sense for us to be involved with the final event of the season. In particular as it is being held at our home base Dubai from which Emirates connects to many of the world’s finest golf destinations.”

Emirates operate a fleet of 220 aircraft, including 52 of the highly popular double-decker A380s. The award-winning airline serves 146 destinations across six continents with new routes being added on a regular basis. Some of the new destinations for 2014 include Brussels, Boston and Oslo.

This year, Emirates will celebrate its new partnership with The European Tour by reflecting the cuisine and themes of all 19 countries in which it supports European Tour events, in its Hospitality chalet overlooking the 18th green.

Nick Tarratt, Director European Tour International, Dubai Office said: “Since its inception in 2009, the DP World Tour Championship has been the season-ending finale of The Race to Dubai and has enjoyed the support of major sponsors with none more prominent than Emirates, which now has an even greater presence across The European Tour footprint."

“We are now in our fifth consecutive year as event partners and we thank them for the continued and valuable support of both the DP World Tour Championship and The European Tour.”

In 2014, the DP World Tour Championship will be staged from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 November and will take place on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
