The following will qualify to play in the Tournament:
(a) Winners of the Open Championship for the last 10 years (1993-2002).
(b) The current United States Masters Champion.
(c) The current United States Open Champion.
(d) The current United States PGA Champion.
(e) The current Japan Open Champion.
(f) The current World Match Play Champion.
(g) The 2002 British Masters Champion.
(h) Winners of Volvo Order of Merit Tournaments, decided during the period 3rd June 2002 - 4th June 2003.
(i) Playing Members of the 2002 European Ryder Cup Team.
(j) The leader of the 2002 PGA Tour of Japan Order of Merit.
(k) The leader of the final 2002 PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit,
(l) The leader of the 2002 Asian PGA Tour Order of Merit.
(m) The leader of the 2002/2003 Southern Africa PGA Tour Order of Merit.
(n) Any 8 players nominated by the Sponsors in agreement with the European Tour.
(o) A maximum of 2 amateurs.
(p) The balance of the field will be completed in accordance with the 2003 European Tour Exemption Category List.
(Note: Category 5 excluded).
