Swede Johan Edfors and England’s Simon Khan closed in on leaders Simon Dyson and Marcel Siem as the first round of the KLM Open was completed at Hilversum in The Netherlands.
Half the field had to complete their first rounds following Thursday's delays, first for vandalism to four greens and then for flooding.
England's Dyson and German Siem led overnight on five under, both having the luxury of a long lie-in before they began their second rounds later in the day.
Edfors birdied the tenth and 12th on his return to the course, while former BMW PGA Championship winner Khan, his compatriot Ross Fisher and South African James Kingston also advanced to join Robert Dinwiddie in a tie for third on four under.
Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy remained deep in the pack as the two stablemates, second and fourth in the Official World Golf Ranking, both returned level par 70s to be five behind.
Westwood, winner of the title in 1999, had two birdies and two bogeys on the back nine, while US Open Champion McIlroy slipped to two over before making birdies at the 16th and long 18th.
First change at the top of the leaderboard in the second round came when Khan hit back from a bogey at the tenth with birdies at the 12th and 13th to join Dyson and Siem.
Westwood did well not to drop a stroke after a poor drive down the ninth - his opening hole - while McIlroy did take five there, but came back with a 25 foot birdie putt at the 11th.
