England's Steve Webster achieved the rare feat of back-to-back eagles at Loch Lomond as the final round of The Barclays Scottish Open got under way.
Webster landed a hole in one with a seven iron to the 193 yard fifth, and then sank a 113 yard wedge at the long next.
From five under par, he leapt to nine under and moved into a tie for eighth spot, five strokes behind leader Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño. To qualify for The Open Championship, he had to finish in the top five and be the leading non-exempt player.
Fernandez-Castaño was still one clear of Retief Goosen after both men parred their opening two holes, with Martin Kaymer dropping to third after a bogey at the second.
Fernandez-Castaño and Goosen both dropped shots at the fourth and with Kaymer picking up a stroke at the par five third it was last week’s Open de France ALSTOM winner who joined the Spaniard out in front on 13 under par.
