Dubois rejuvenated after week off

Edouard Dubois is feeling refreshed after a week off last week, and feels his game is in great shape to make a final push up the Rankings in the last three events of the Challenge Tour season.

The 22 year old Frenchman is currently in ninth place, but wants to make the most of playing on home soil in the Allianz Open de Lyon to ensure he will finish in the top ten come the end of the campaign.

Dubois is familiar with victory, having claimed two titles this year – the Kärnten Open presented by Mazda and the Scottish Hydro Challenge – to secure a European Tour card for 2012, but he is not prepared to sit back and relax as the season draws to a close.

“I really want to finish strongly,” he said. “Last week I took a week off from competing to spend some time practising, because my results in the last few weeks have not been so good.

“I spent some time with my coach and had a really great week of practice. I’m feeling much better about my game and I’m confident this can be a good week.

“It’s always nice to play in your home country and hopefully there will be some crowds out to cheer on the French guys.

“I’m ninth in the Rankings and I really want to make sure I finish in the top ten, so I need three more good weeks in order to do that.”

The Golf de Gouverneur course, just outside Lyon, has already attracted high praise from many of the field, and Dubois is no different.

“It is a great golf course with excellent greens,” he said. “It’s not very long but you need to be accurate, and I will have to take advantage of the birdie opportunities because I think the scoring will be very low here.”

Should Dubois win, he would be the second home champion in four editions of the Allianz Open de Lyon, following Alex Kaleka, who won on his professional debut in 2009.
