DP World Tour Championship - Day three digest

Everything you need to know from Moving Day in Dubai.

Matt Wallace went birdie ballistic, Mike Browne did it for dad, Jeff Winther had a day to remember and seven was a lucky number on Saturday at the DP World Tour Championship.

Here is everything you need to know from day three at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Wallace leads after birdie bonanza

Wallace will take a one-shot lead into the final round after birdieing every hole on the back nine in a remarkable day. The Englishman started the day seven shots off the lead but after turning in 33 on the Earth Course, picked up a shot on every hole from the tenth onwards to sign for a stunning career-best 60. He was two feet from holing a bunker shot for an eagle and a 59 on the last but had to settle for the lowest round of the season, a 16 under total and a one-shot lead as he looks for a first Rolex Series title. Playing partners Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland were the closest challengers after continuing to match each other with rounds of 69-66-66 in Dubai. "What a day, an amazing day," said Wallace. "I just tried my hardest to get myself back into the tournament. I'm really happy that I've been able to do that. Played great. At the end, I didn't even think there was a 59. Honestly I think it helped me a little bit. I just played nicely coming down the stretch, just keep getting one more if I could and I managed to do that."

Browne dedicates win to dad

Browne dedicated his second G4D Tour title to the memory of his father after securing a three-stroke victory at the season-ending event in Dubai. With inclement weather resulting in Friday’s play being cancelled, the G4D Tour Season Finale @ DP World Tour Championship was reduced to 18 holes. Browne posted a one under par 71 to finish ahead of World Number One Kipp Popert, inaugural G4D Open winner Brendan Lawlor and Canada’s Kurtis Barkley who finished in a tie for second place. "That was a pretty special day," he said. "The course was playing amazing. That one was for my dad. We lost him a year ago."

Winther has a day to die for

It's not every day you get to play alongside a Major Champion and several-time World Number One but Winther did on Saturday. And not only did he play alongside Jon Rahm, he bettered him by three shots. "He's a great guy and he's obviously a phenomenal golfer," said Winther of Rahm. "He was very kind to say when we finished on the last: 'It's very annoying, everything you did was just a little bit better than me today'. I can die happy now!" High praise indeed.

Just the 143 yards

It's not every day you make an eagle from the fairway. Take a bow Jeff.

Just the 69 feet

Rory McIlroy makes an absolute monster at the 12th.

Seventh heaven

The par-five seventh has been the easiest hole on the course this week so far but there was only one eagle on days one and two. That all changed on Saturday.
