The eTour Global Final will be held at the DP World FLOW Pavilion at Expo City Dubai on Wednesday evening, in advance of the DP World Tour Championship, the final Rolex Series event of the season.

The entire competition, which opened to players across the globe earlier this year, has been played on Wolf Creek Golf Course in Nevada, USA.

It was launched in partnership with the leading online and mobile game World Golf Tour (WGT) by TOPGOLF, and esports specialists DreamHack Sports Games.

Played over four stages, the competition began with an ‘Open Qualification’ before the top 128 players progressed to play in ‘The Bracket’, a knockout format consisting of eight groups of 16 players, before ‘The Shootout’ determined the final four players.

Key stats

110,000 ‘Open Qualification’ entries. This resulted in:

o  1.2m rounds started

o  6.4m holes played

o  31.2m balls hit

·        Over 215 different countries and territories represented

Two of the four finalists are players with experience on the etour, with Jason Young, ‘Young46’, having won the last two eTour events, while Joshua Smithers, ‘Jsmithers’, won twice on the eTour in 2021.

Meanwhile, Donald Cox, ‘MasterHacker74, arrives as the top seed with fellow finalist Prajwal Prakash Adiga, ‘Pjbhai’, looking for success after also impressing on debut.

The grand final will be held during a live show from 6pm local (U.A.E) time hosted by Rachel Stringer, who will be joined by WGT expert, Jeff Eisenband and Sky Sports Golf commentator, Inci Mehmet.

The show will be streamed across DP Word Tour YouTube and Twitter globally.

The competition is the latest collaboration between the European Tour group, Topgolf Entertainment Group and DreamHack Sports Games. In 2020 the organisations joined forces to launch the European eTour on the WGT platform, which saw more than 750,000 entries and five million rounds played in its first two seasons.
