Domingo on the charge in Switzerland

Spain’s Agustin Domingo was looking the most likely to mount a challenge on Joachim B Hansen’s lead in the early stages of the second day at the Credit Suisse Challenge as he moved to within two shots of the summit when he reached the turn in four under par, seven under for the tournament.

Domingo carded four birdies in his opening nine holes, including three in a row from the fifth hole as the field chased down the four shot lead set by Joachim B Hansen after the Dane signed for a stunning nine under par 62 on the opening day.

Promising young Frenchman Gary Stal, who claimed his maiden Challenge Tour victory at the Kärnten Golf Open presented by Mazda, also moved into contention as five birdies and one bogey left him five under for the day through 13 holes.

That elevated the 20 year old to six under for the tournament, three shots off the pace, alongside Simon Wakefield, who was two under through 12 after a four under par opening round of 67.

Ireland’s Colm Moriarty, who was one under par through 13, and Andrea Perrino of Italy, who was three under through ten, were a shot further back on five under par alongside Lasse Jensen, Oliver Wilson and Matt Ford, who were yet to tee off for their second rounds.
