DID YOU KNOW – ABERDEEN ASSET MANAGEMENT SCOTTISH OPEN

• Defending champion Justin Rose will attempt to create history by becoming the first player to successfully defend the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

• When Phil Mickelson won in 2013 He went on to create history seven days later by becoming the first player to win the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, then go onto win The Open Championship.

• Only once since the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open began has the tournament not been the event prior to The Open Championship. This was in 1986, when the Car Care Plan International was a week before The Open. (The Scottish Open in 1986 was played in August).

• Gullane Golf Club will host its first European Tour event. The venue will be the 19th club to host European Tour competition in Scotland since 1972, the Tour’s first season.

• The field for the 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open contains 22 players within the top 60 of the Official World Golf Ranking, eight Major Champions, six European Tour Number Ones, 94 European Tour winners, 29 Ryder Cup players and 11 former winners competing.

• The 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open will be the 33rd staging of the event, first played in 1972 and won by Neil Coles, beating Brian Huggett in a play-off.

• The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open has produced 29 different winners from 14 different countries. Of those 29, eight have been Major Champions.
