Sweden’s Sebastian Soderberg’s superb second round of 64 was chosen as the second winner of the Diageo round of the day – an accolade which is being awarded at the end of each day of this year’s SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.
The 27 year old moved 44 places up the leaderboard on the second day at Macdonald Spey Valley Golf Club as he bagged eight birdies and one bogey.
A panel of experts unanimously selected Soderberg’s stunning score – the lowest round so far this year – as the best performance on the second day of the competition in the Scottish Highlands.
Jim Black, on behalf of the panel, said: “It was a fantastic round of golf. Although conditions were slightly more favourable today this Aviemore course still poses a very tough test – one which Sebastian passed with flying colours.”
As a reward for his excellent score Soderberg receives a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky – which will be awarded to each winner of the Diageo round of the day this week.
It's @DiageoGB round of the day time!
