The Delhi Challenge takes place at Classic Golf & Country Club this week, in the second of back-to-back co-sanctioned events between the HotelPlanner Tour and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). Here are three players to look out for…
Form horse: Joshua Berry
Joshua Berry joined the winner’s circle last week, birdieing the second extra hole in a four-man play-off to do so. The Englishman’s victory in the Kolkata Challenge saw him climb 54 places to fourth in the Road to Mallorca Rankings and capped an impressive month for the 19-year-old. Three weeks ago, teeing it up on the DP World Tour, he recorded his best finish to date on Golf’s Global Tour, carding rounds of 71-70-68-65 in the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa to end the week tied seventh.
Local boy: Saptak Talwar
Saptak Talwar secured playing privileges for the 2025 HotelPlanner Tour season by making the 72-hole cut at DP World Tour Qualifying School last year. So far this season, he’s played predominantly on home soil, on the PGTI, making the cut in all four outings, including last week in Kolkata. A second-place finish in the Glade One presents Gujarat Open Golf Championship last month on the PGTI shows that his best form isn’t too far away.
The outsider: Joshua Grenville-Wood
Joshua Grenville-Wood will be looking to use past experience at Classic Golf & Country Club to his advantage when he gets his week under way on Thursday. In this event last year, the Emirati was in contention on the final day, only to fall one shot short of a maiden win after 72 holes. Four under par rounds of 66-70-64-69 saw him end the week 19 under par, and should he do the same this time out, he’ll likely be in the mix come Sunday.
