The Austrians took control, European Tour veterans continue to shine and the aces were flowing on HimmerLand Hill.

Here is everything you need to know from day two in Denmark.

Austrian dominance

It has been a good week for the Austrian contingent so far, with defending champion Bernd Wiesberger leading the way on 11 under and Matthias Schwab his nearest challenge two shots back. Schwab produced a spectacular par save on the last after driving into trees and having to play out onto the wrong fairway, while Wiesberger added a 65 to his opening 66. “I’m feeling good and hopefully ready for as good a weekend as the first two days,” said Wiesberger. “Just push on, push forward and hit good, decisive golf shots. Especially the way I played the front nine, which was my back nine today, I felt like there were a lot of chances coming up and I really tried to push forward and give myself a lot of looks.”

Veterans continue to shine

It has been an excellent couple of weeks for golf's senior players, with Richard Bland becoming the European Tour's oldest first-time winner at The Belfry before 50-year-old Phil Mickelson became golf's oldest major winner at Kiawah Island. That trend has continued in Denmark, with 48-year-old Bland four off the lead on seven under, alongside 46-year-old Scot Stephen Gallacher. And 50-year-old home favourite Thomas Bjørn also made it through to the weekend after a second-round 66.

Veerman's trans-Atlantic dash

America's Johannes Veerman did not manage to have the week he wanted, but nobody can deny his commitment after travelling across the Atlantic having successfully qualified for the U.S. Open earlier in the week only to find his clubs had not made he same journey...

Aces aplenty at 16th

On Thursday it was European Tour debutant Lauri Ruuska, on Friday it was home favourite John Axelsen and Sweden's Alexander Björk who produced a hole-in-one at the 16th.
