Here is everything you need to know from day two at Real Club Valderrama.

John Catlin leads by two strokes at the halfway stage of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters after making a late move on Friday afternoon.

Here is everything you need to know from day two at Real Club Valderrama.

Drop and give me 200

Sami Välimäki looked overjoyed and pointed to his caddie Väinö Viitaharju after holing his par putt at the last to sign for a 69. That's because he had agreed with Viitaharju that the bagman must do 200 push ups if he managed to post a two under par round or better. Välimäki said: "If I played two under or better he has to make 200 push ups, so that was for him that I made that last putt. I don’t know (how he’ll find it). I can’t do it so hopefully he can."

It turns out he can, and we have video evidence. Over to you, Väinö...

Highest cut of the season

Rather unsurprisingly, this week's eight over par cut mark is by far the highest of the 2020 Race to Dubai campaign so far. The previous high cut was three over at the Alfred Dunhill Championship late last year. One of the beneficiaries from the high cut mark is England's Matthew Jordan, who looked destined to have the weekend off after opening up with a ten over par 81 on Thursday. He seemed even less likely to make the cut after carding two more bogeys in the first six holes of his second round but his long wait for a birdie ended at the eighth and he picked up further shots on the tenth, 11th and 17th to reach eight over par and scrape through.

Catlin takes over at the top

Home favourite Pablo Larrazábal, Scotland's Connor Syme and Welshman Jamie Donaldson had spent most of Friday afternoon with a share of the lead after getting into the clubhouse on one under par. But a couple of late birdies from Catlin in the final group of the day - at the 16th and 17th - handed the American a two shot lead.

Wilco's wonderful eagle

Big hitting South African Wilco Nienaber enjoyed an extremely productive morning, reaching the turn in 33 after making birdies at the first and fourth. After a lovely tee shot at the par four tenth, the 20-year-old holed his approach for a remarkable eagle. You won't see many of those at this hole this week. Nienaber said: "It was 117, wind into and off the right. Pretty much a perfect, soft gap wedge. It pitched about five yards behind the flag and it kept rolling. I was waiting for it to drop, I think it almost stopped but it finally dropped in the hole."

Cañizares' birdie blitz

It's not every day that you see four straight birdies on a card at Valderrama. The rare feat was achieved by Alejandro Cañizares over his first four holes on Friday. The Spaniard was unable to add any further gains but heads into the weekend just four shots back after signing for a 70.
