Everything you need to know from day two in Paphos.
Jamie Donaldson impressed again, several players were left with a nerve-wracking finish to their rounds and Joël Stalter successfully chased the ace.
Here are the highlights from day two at the Aphrodite Hills Resort.
Donaldson delights again
Jamie Donaldson finished in a share of third over the same layout in last week's Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open, so it was not surprise to see the Welshman leading the way once again. At 12 under for the week with three to play, the former Ryder Cup hero looks well set for a prominent role over the weekend.
Saturday morning drama
Lightning caused a delay on Friday which means that we still don't know the 32 players (plus ties) who will have their scores reset for a Saturday clash to finish in the top 16 and ties who will contest Sunday's final round. There are currently 33 players at six under or better, so that looks all but certain to be the magic number. Rasmus Højgaard and Mikko Korhonen are both five under with holes remaining and likely need to find at least one birdie on the way in.
Morrison's move
With only 32 and ties making it to Saturday, what the early starters in Paphos didn't need was to give themselves a nervous wait as they hovered around the cut mark. James Morrison avoided that with a sensational run of eight birdies in nine holes in a stunning 63. “I putted lovely,” he said. “Played really well last Sunday to finish 28th and didn't putt very well so the putting is never far away and today they were going in from everywhere it felt like. Everybody is trying to get over the line and finish top 32 but I don't care, I've been playing really well the last few months and feel like I'm really building the right momentum for next year so I don't care about that, I'm just so happy to shoot a good score on Friday and for the game to be feeling as good as it is.”
Putt of the season?
Where's Steven Brown aiming his birdie putt? Seemingly miles right, until the ball takes a sharp 90-degree turn and filters back to the hole. Magnificent.
Stalter aces the fifth
With low scoring the order of the day, France's Joel Stalter gave himself a boost with this brilliant tee shot at the fifth. At six under with three to play it looks like being a crucial gain to boot.
