Everything you need to know from day two in Scotland.
Tyrrell maintained momentum, home comforts proved a blessing for Li, we had some proper links wind and Renato was just showing off in round two of the 2021 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Here is everything you need to know from Friday on the Scottish coast.
Tyrrell shows his mettle
Tests don't get much tougher than Carnoustie one day and then high winds on the links the next but that is what Tyrrell Hatton faced in Scotland. After a brilliant 64 at the Open Championship venue on day one, he used all his guile and showed why he is a two time winner of this event on day two, carding a battling 70 at Kingsbarns to lead the way by one at 10 under. "I'm happy with how I scored," he said. "It was really tough out there. It was quite easy to make mistakes, very easy to hit bad shots. I guess I was fortunate at times where when I did hit a bad shot, I didn't end up in too much of a dodgy position. I was able to get it on to the green. I'm happy with how I fought out there today in tough conditions."
No place like home for Li
After 13 missed cuts on the 2021 Race to Dubai, Li Haotong decided to take a break in mid August and head back to his native China for the first time in two years. After relaxing with family and friends and finishing second in the National Games of China, he arrived back in Europe to post rounds of 64 and 72, look certain to make his first cut of the season and sit just two shots off the lead. "I saw so many old friends from back in the day and they gave me a lot of positives and great thoughts as well," he said. "I found my game is in the right direction right now. I just have to keep getting better every day and keep calm on the course and the result will show by itself." There would not be a more popular winner if he makes it European Tour victory number three on Sunday.
Making it look easy
Short sided, over a bunker, howling wind - enter Renato Paratore.
What. A. Shot.
Willett a wizard with the short stick
After an impressive opening 67 at Carnoustie, Danny Willett carded a 69 at Kingsbarns and the reason for that was not hard to see.
Safe to say @Danny_Willett had the putter working today 🔥#DunhillLinks pic.twitter.com/MXPFOLLK2o

He's just two off the lead.
Proper links conditions
The coast of the British Isles tends to bring two things with it - wind and rain. Well luckily it stayed dry on Friday but the rain was more than made up for by the wind.

Dean Burmester summed it up in one word - Ridiculous.
"Some of the toughest wind conditions I've ever played in"

As @BurmyGolf explains, it is not an easy task out there today.#DunhillLinks pic.twitter.com/9zPKJuNiFh
The power of putts
This event has a host of amateurs and celebrities who return year after year and American musician Huey Lewis is one of them. "I love the golf course, I love the tournament, I love the town. We've been sort of 13 or 14 years for me and it feels like a second home in a way." He certainly looks comfortable on the greens........

It's easy to see why @HueyLewisNews loves @TheHomeofGolf when he's putting like this 👏 pic.twitter.com/4xrg0tX5dI
