8- Brooks Koepka leads the way after 18 holes, thanks to an eight under par round of 64.

4- Koepka played the final three holes of his back nine in four under par, going birdie-birdie-eagle.

6 - The American hasn't finished outside the top 17 in his last six European Tour events.

65- Koepka's 64 is his lowest opening round on the European Tour, beating his 65s at the 2014 Omega European Masters and The 2017 Open Championship.

1- Bernd Wiesberger made a hole-in-one at the fourth hole. The Austrian used a seven-iron from 167 yards.

10- Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Haydn Porteous made  ten birdies each today, one shy of Ross Fisher and Bernd Wiesberger's record 11 for the season at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and Maybank Championship respectively.

6,368- Jon Rahm made the 6,368-mile journey to Shanghai after playing in the Andalucia Valderrama Masters last week. The Spaniard opened with a level par round of 72.
