66 - ​Sergio Garcia and Joost Luiten share the first round lead after rounds of five under par.

18 - The last time Garcia held an 18-hole lead he won the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in February.

2011- The Spaniard won at Real Club Valderrama the last time the tournament was held in 2011.

2004- Garcia beat his lowest opening round at Valderrama by a single shot today. He opened with a 67 in the 2004 Volvo Masters Andalucia.

14 - Both Garcia and Luiten hit 14 Greens in Regulation today.

2 -  Garcia birdied every par three today, making him just the second man to birdie every par three here since 2002. Simon Dyson did the same at the 2007 Volvo Masters.
