Everything you need to know from the first round at Green Eagle Golf Courses.
Li and Lagergren went low while the defending champion put on a show on day one of the 2022 Porsche European Open.
Here is everything you need to know from the first round at Green Eagle Golf Courses.
Li's lightning-fast start
Early starter Li Haotong enjoyed a productive morning, starting his round with three successive birdies courtesy of some sensational putting from around 12 feet. He added further birdies at the ninth, 15th and 18th, with his only blemish a bogey on the 16th. His 67 was enough for a share of the lead with Joakim Lagergren.
Armitage shines on happy hunting ground
Last year's champion Marcus Armitage produced a two-under-par 70 on his return to Hamburg but that number doesn't tell the whole story. The Englishman found himself three over par after six holes before getting his first birdie of the day on the seventh. He made another bogey on the tenth but five birdies over the next eight holes saw him turn things around. Check out this lovely effort at the 13th...

No putter required for Lagergren
After seeing his first birdie of the day on the ninth cancelled out by a bogey on the tenth, Lagergren made three birdies in four holes from the 11th to move into contention. He then holed his pitch from 102 yards at the 15th for a stunning eagle to join leader Li on five under. A bogey on the 17th threatened to keep him off the summit but he made a closing birdie to grab a share of the lead. This eagle will live long in the memory...

Matt's monster putt
When Matt Wallace knocked his tee-shot to 40 feet at the par-three 17th, it looked as though he would struggle to get it close, given the difficulty of the putt. But he made it look easy, holing for an unlikely birdie.
