Amateur Jacob Skov Olesen enjoyed playing in front of his home crowd as he signed for a spotless 66 in the third round of the 2024 Danish Golf Championship to surge into contention on his DP World Tour debut.
Olesen, who made history by becoming the first Danish winner of the Amateur Championship earlier this year, followed up his bogey-free 66 in the second round with an identical score on Saturday, keeping his card clean once more to reach nine under par.
That leaves him just three shots off the lead heading into the final round, and the 25-year-old revealed the superb support from the crowds fuelled his charge.
He said: "The crowd's been fantastic all week. I've had pretty good support on all days, especially today.
"There's a lot of people out there. It was really cool getting clapped onto almost every green."
Olesen, who has enjoyed a stellar year, vowed to keep doing what he has been doing as he bids to make more history on Sunday.
He added: "I've been playing good all year. Ever since last year, around August, I've been playing well.
"So I'll just keep doing my thing, trusting it and keep grinding away.
"Same (game plan) as the last two days. I'll stay committed to my targets and see what happens."
