There is more than just the trophy to play for this week in the Czech Republic as the Closing Swing and the Global Swings phase of the Race to Dubai near their conclusions on the outskirts of Prague.

Just this week's event and next week's Danish Golf Championship remain before the Back 9 gets under way, leading into the DP World Tour play-offs and the season finale at the DP World Tour Championship.

The winner of the Closing Swing will earn $200,000 and entry into the Back 9 events, while the top ten players on the Race to Dubai at the conclusion of the Global Swings who have played a minimum of eight ‘regular’ Global Swings events outside the Major Championships and co-sanctioned Genesis Scottish Open will share a $1million Bonus Pool.

Romain Langasque is the highest-ranked player in the Closing Swing Rankings teeing it up this week, while Jesper Svensson takes that honour from the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex.

Todd Clements returns to defend his title, Matthew Jordan and Dan Brown are back from their Open heroics and Major Champions Francesco Molinari, Danny Willett and Jason Dufner also tee it up at new venue PGA National OAKS Prague.

If you have not done so already, you can sign up to play the official 2024 DP World Tour Fantasy game here and submit your six-man team before round one gets under way on Thursday.

The 2024 season-long winner will win a trip to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai next year, enjoy a lesson with a DP World Tour professional and a round of golf on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. For more information on this amazing prize and others, read here.

Fantasy Insight: As it stands, Jordan is the most-picked player this week, featuring in just over half of teams, with in-form Frenchman Langasque (44%) the next most popular pick.

Ryo Hisatsune would have made the FedEx Cup play-offs had he birdied the last at the Wyndham Championship on Sunday but he bogeyed the 18th in North Carolina and makes the trip back across the Atlantic to be your third most-picked player (39%).

Fantasy Prize

Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.

Favourite - Tom McKibbin

A regular in the column and rightly so with his fantastic consistency, McKibbin is the man the bookmakers fancy to lift the trophy this week.

The Northern Irishman has just two missed cuts all season and neither of those came in a Major Championship as he followed a tie for 41st on his Major debut at the U.S. Open with a tie for 66th last time out at The Open Championship.

Has six top tens in his last nine regular DP World Tour events, including a play-off loss at the Italian Open presented by Regione Emilia-Romagna where he was taken down by an inspired Marcel Siem.

Despite all that, he currently only features in just over 21% of teams this week, so a selection could give you the jump on your rivals.

Form Horse - Romain Langasque

Surely it is time for the impressive Frenchman to put another one in the win column alongside his triumph at the 2020 ISPS HANDA Wales Open.

The 2021 season may have been a disappointment but he enjoyed an excellent spring and summer in 2022 with five top tens in the space of ten events, registering another five in 2023 along with a runner-up finish at the Italian Open.

It took him 11 events to record a top ten this season but he has four in his last seven starts, including a second at the Soudal Open and a best Rolex Series finish of third at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Langasque's curve may not be steep but it is heading in only one direction and at 17th on the Race to Dubai and fourth in the Closing Swing, it looks like it could be heading for the winner's circle sooner rather than later.

Wild Card - Sami Välimäki

The popular Finn is making his first appearance in a regular DP World Tour event this season, having so far largely played on the PGA TOUR as a Dual Member.

His record of 11 missed cuts from 19 starts in 2024 may not be appealing but one of his made cuts was a runner-up finish and he arrives in the Czech Republic off the high of representing his country at the Olympics.

He has often been a player of feast or famine, following his 11th-placed finish on the 2020 Race to Dubai with finishes of 159th and 100th before he leapt to 12th last season with a win and two seconds.

While his form may not be at its best, his ability to find it and overall class has been proven time and again and considering he is only in just over 6% of teams, are you willing to bet on him finding it this week?

Looking Back - The 152nd Open Championship

Xander Schauffele won his second Major of the season at Royal Troon, earning 185 points for the perhaps surprisingly small 15.99% of players who picked him for their Fantasy team, with less than 3% making him captain.

Our Favourite Rory McIlroy disappointed 33% of players (26.08% of whom had him as captain) with a first missed cut of the season, while Form Horse Ludvig Åberg also missed the cut having been the most picked player on 45.96% of teams. In a disappointing hat-trick, Wild Card Matthew Southgate also failed to make the weekend.
