Commercial Bank Qatar Masters - What the leaders said

A record-breaking nine players shared the lead at eight under par after the second round of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club.

Here, we take a look at what the leaders had to say after completing their first 36 holes.

Andy Sullivan (68)

"A frustrating start to the day. I felt like that nine I played there, I thought it was a nine I could really get going and platform me into the back nine but it didn't really happen. I thought tee-to-green I struck it really well but I didn't quite convert the putts. My caddie just told me to be patient on this nine, I was still hitting good shots. Finally the putts started to drop. All in all, reasonably happy with that."

Mikko Korhonen (71)

"It was a lot tougher than yesterday, the wind was up and it wasn't easy. I started feeling more confident on the back nine. I'm happy to be up there and hope to build on that."

Jorge Campillo (67)

"It was a tough day. I'm happy with the way I played and the way I scored today. I played solid, missed quite a few fairways but they were in play all the time and I putted well so it was a good round. This is a great position to be in going into the weekend."

Bradley Dredge (72)

"It was pretty benign, pretty calm but the wind got up and certainly made things a bit more difficult. We were chatting about the wind yesterday and I just didn't play great. It was grinding level pars so, at the end of the day, you can only do your best. I'll just try and improve on what I'm doing and try and get my eye in on the greens like I did the first day and hopefully get myself in contention on the back nine."

Nacho Elvira (69)

"I feel very happy. I had two good rounds in a row and today was a bit tougher with the wind. I'm very happy with a 69 today. I played pretty solid off the tee, I managed to not get myself into much trouble and I putted really well throughout yesterday and today. I'm in a good position and I'm just happy that I'm playing good golf and let's see where the weekend gets us."

Thomas Aiken (68)

"I got off to a nice start early this morning. Birdied my first two holes and went stagnant for about 13 holes but hit some great shots, I just didn't capitalise with the putter. Then I had two nice birdies coming home. This is my tenth time playing here so I'm used to seeing the wind coming from a completely different direction and holes play the way that you are used to. Whereas this year, it's kind of from a different direction."

Jaco Van Zyl (69)

"I'm hitting it nicely. I made a couple of mistakes but I kept it together and got it up and down when I needed to. Unfortunately I didn't give myself a whole bunch of birdie chances on my back nine. I said to my caddie, Jason, at the beginning of the week, we kind of linger there or thereabouts every single week and we kind of hope for one good round. We're always finishing in the middle of the pack and it feels like it's become more of a comfort zone than the golf I'm playing. We've come out this week with a different mindset and so far, so good."

Jeunghun Wang (67)

"I hit it well today. On the front nine, my putting was really good so I made a lot of birdies today. I feel really good right now and I just want to keep going. I don't want to get pressured, I just want to play my own game. I'm so happy about my position right now, I'm happy about the score and I think I can have a good result this week."

Kiradech Aphibarnrat (70)

"It wasn't a good start, I missed a couple of putts. My first bogey today on a par five was very disappointing and then a three-putt on six inside 20 feet.  But overall, it's a good recovery on the back nine. I'm pleased with the way I've been playing the first two rounds. The wind picked up a bit but I'm still playing the same way I do, trying to get more opportunities to hit more putts, hit more fairways and see how the greens roll."
