The 60 year old, founder of accounts software company Sage, launched the Graham Wylie Foundation in 2016 with the aim of benefitting underprivileged and vulnerable youngsters in the north east region of England.

The Graham Wylie Foundation was the Official Charity of the British Masters when the tournament was first played at Close House, on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne, in 2017.

More than 70,000 spectators attended the event, helping to raise £472, 552 for the Foundation, which donates 100 per cent of its fundraising revenues to projects working to help, inspire and educate children, with Sir Graham Wylie covering all the running costs of the charity.

Wylie, who was recognised in the UK’s New Year’s honours list, was instrumental in the Betfred British Masters returning to Close House from July 30 – August 2, when former World Number One and Ryder Cup legend Lee Westwood, Close House’s Touring Professional, will become the first player to host the tournament on two occasions.
