Close finish on the cards in The Netherlands

Three players were tied for the lead as the KLM Open headed for an exciting finish in Zandevoort.

KLM Open -Round Two

Overnight leader Peter Hedblom was joined by Ireland’s Peter Lawrie and England’s Simon Dyson on 14 under par as the leaders reached the back nine of the final round.

Lawrie’s compatriot Damien McGrane was just one shot behind after an eagle at the 12th.

Hedblom was level par for his round through his first eight holes, and was caught by Dyson - who grabbed six birdies across his first 12 holes - and Lawrie, seeking his second European Tour title.

Bradley Dredge of Wales at 11 under, defending champion Darren Clarke and Sweden’s Niclas Fasth on ten under were still in the hunt but would need something special over the closing holes.

Lawrie had held the outright lead when he holed from 15 feet at the sixth and then matched Hedblom's birdie four on the next.

But he then bogeyed the dangerous short eighth - which had not yielded one birdie all day - by failing to get up and down from a bunker and that led to a three-way tie at the top.

Hedblom had saved par with a 15 footer from off the edge and four holes ahead Dyson, winner on the course in 2006, moved to six under for the day when he two putted the long 12th.
