Close finish on the cards in Cologne

The Mercedes-Benz Championship in Cologne had a four-way tie for the lead with 12 holes to play as an exciting finish beckoned.

PGA Championship - Final Round

Overnight pacesetter Peter Hanson was caught by fellow Swede Henrik Stenson, South African James Kingston and Dane Anders Hansen on 11 under par.

Only one behind were Søren Hansen - no relation to Anders - and England's Simon Dyson as the battle for the €320,000 first prize tightened up.

Italian Francesco Molinari was also still in the running, although at eight under he was going to need to pick up shots quickly.

Kingston, chasing only his second European Tour win in 199 starts, edged in front with a chip in two on the difficult 241 yard eighth.

He turned 12 under, one in front of Anders Hansen and also Dyson, who after two opening bogeys had come back with three birdies and then a brilliant flop chip to save par at the ninth.

Nobody could get away. Dyson's birdie on the 164 yard 11th brought him level with Kingston and Anders Hansen two putted the long 13th to be 12 under as well.
