During the 2013 Nordea Masters, Andrew Dodt became the first golfer in European Tour history to record two holes in one in the same round.
Recording a hole in one is a rare enough feat on its own, but doing it twice in one round had been unheard of on the European Tour until Andrew Dodt’s history making second round at the 2013 Nordea Masters.
Following an opening round five over par 77, Dodt needed to produce something special in order to ensure that he would be around for the weekend in Sweden. He duly delivered.
Starting on the back nine of Bro Hof Slott GC, Dodt began his round with a par before making an ace at the par three 11th hole from 175 yards.
He then birdied the 12th, and recovered from a dropped shot at the 13th with birdies at both 15 and 16 to post an outward nine of four under.
Dodt dropped his second shot of the day on the second hole, but with work still to do, birdied the sixth, and then recorded his second hole in one of the day at the 208 yard par three seventh.
"I can't get my head around it,” Dodt said afterwards. “I'm pretty proud to be the first one to do it."
"The shot at the 11th kick-started things. I didn't putt very well today so I'm glad I was able to hole with a long club."
A final hole birdie led him to a seven under 65, making the cut on the number, and he was then presented with a box of champagne by the tournament sponsors.
He ended the week tied 44th after further rounds of 67 and 73.
Dodt remains the only European Tour player to have achieved the feat. On the PGA Tour, it has happened on three occasions: Bill Wheldon managed it during the first round of the 1955 Insurance City Open, Yusaku Miyazata during the second round of the 2006 Reno-Tahoe Open, and Brian Harman during the final round of The Barclays in 2015
